If you want an eco-friendly bag that can protect your laptop as well as the environment, check out the Eco Casual Tote by Mobile Edge for Her. The tote, which can fit laptops up to 16 inches, has a natural cotton exterior and a color-accented satin interior lining. In addition to the tan color shown above, the tote comes in black, chocolate, and blue; also included is an optional extra-wide shoulder strap.

Mobile Edge Eco-Friendly Casual Tote with removable computer compartmentThe 17.5- by 14- by 7-inch tote has a detachable phone pocket made of the same satin interior fabric, and a removable computer compartment that converts to an all-purpose tote. Inside the bag, there’s plenty of room on both sides of the laptop compartment for personal items and accessories.

For more storage, the Casual Tote features two large, deep pockets on the outside and one has additional smaller pockets on the inside for all your personal items and accessories. On the side of the bag is a hidden mesh pocket for your water bottle.

I carried the tote around for a week. It kept my laptop secure, and I liked having the option of carrying the laptop tote by itself.

This bag is huge; it has more than enough room to carry all my items. I really like the smaller pockets inside the bigger pockets that I could use for my MetroCard and work ID. It made it easier to find them when I needed them.

The extra wide strap did make it more comfortable to carry, too; that was a definite plus.

Mobile Edge Handbags are Functional and Cool

Matthew Olivolo October 28th, 2009

By Susie Anderson, Fashion Editor Lime Life

Mobile Edge Pink Faux-Croc Komen Milano Handbag We’re thrilled that we found a solution to common problem. Since we carry our laptops absolutely everywhere, we’ve been looking for the ideal way to carry it. We want something that’s both functional (meaning our laptop fits and it’s comfortable) and fashionable (mean we don’t want to look super-techy; we want a bit of style). And we finally found that with Mobile Edge Handbags.

When you see someone walking down the street with a Mobile Edge handbag, you’re not going to think, “there she goes off to work with her computer!” Instead you’ll likely think, “Wow, where did that girl get her bag? It’s hot!”

We’re not kidding. These bags are seriously stylish, we can’t even believe they’re meant for carrying around laptops. But hey, we’ll take it because we do need a way to carry our computer around. The bags were designed for women and by women, so it makes sense that women everywhere love them!

The bags come in lots of different colors, but most of them are black or pink. And many of the pink ones were designed to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. So, really they’re a triple whammy. Functional, stylish, and full of support! We’ll take two!

Sumo Laptop Purse reviewed in PC Magazine

Matthew Olivolo October 20th, 2009

If you’re looking for a laptop bag that doesn’t look like a laptop bag, check out Mobile Edge’s Sumo Laptop Purse. This bag, which can hold laptops up to 15 inches, is made from quilted black ballistic nylon with pink stitching on the outside and includes soft leather shoulder straps. The interior of the 14.5- by 10- by 1-inch Laptop Purse is lined in fabric featuring the pink and white Sumo logo.

Sumo Laptop Purse ideal for 15" MacBook Pro LaptopsAlso inside is a padded corduroy compartment for your laptop. The purse give you plenty of storage space for other items, including two zippered pockets in the front for your MP3 player and phone, a large zippered pocket inside, and four other different-sized compartments that can be used for cords and accessories.

I carried the Laptop Purse around for a week. It held my laptop securely. I also carried my phone, iPod, work ID, magazines, notepads, and an umbrella, and everything fit nicely. In fact, even with all that, it was still not close to full.

Overall, I liked the Laptop Purse, because it doesn’t look like a laptop bag at all and it handled all of my stuff with room to spare.

Sumo Laptop Sleeve Reviewed – Gadgeteer

Matthew Olivolo October 7th, 2009

By Morgan Bornstein, Gadgeteer Technology Editor

I had been looking for a laptop sleeve for awhile to replace my large, clunky leather briefcase. Between going back and forth to work and weekend trips, I wanted to ditch the extra bag and just toss my computer in my backpack without worrying about it being bumped, scratched, or damaged. I’ve been using the Sumo Camo Sleeve by Mobile Edge for the past two weeks and have definitely found the answer to my needs.

Sumo Camo Laptop Sleeves in Red, Green and BlackThe Camo design case comes in three colors (Black, Red, and Green) and four different sizes, with the larger two sizes designed specifically for the MacBooks.

The 15? sleeve fits my PowerBook G4 Mac (she may be old, but she’s still a classy broad) perfectly.

I was expecting a wrestling match when trying to fit the sleeve around my laptop, but it was very easy to slide the laptop in and remove it again. There is just a little bit of room on the sides of the sleeve, but nothing that would cause the computer to shift around inside.

The first thing that really caught my eye once I had the case in hand was the camo pattern, which is comprised of the Sumo wrestler logo in overlapping shapes and colors. You don’t notice that detail from far away, and it is adorable up close. The picture really doesn’t do it justice.

The case is entirely neoprene, inside and out. Rather than a zipper the closure device is an overlapping flap. I had thought the computer would just slide right out with the lack of a more secure closure, but the flap does its job quite well. I held the case upside down and shook a few times (highly not recommended, btw) but my laptop stayed safely inside the sleeve and protected by the flap. The neoprene is thick and cushiony and the case feels, and looks, very well made.

Traveling with my Mobile Edge Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag

Matthew Olivolo October 7th, 2009

Laura Lazzaro traveling with her Mobile Edge ScanFast Element Briefcase which is Checkpoint Friendly

Traveling with your laptop is not always the easiest task. Not only can it be cumbersome to carry around, but it is a huge hassle to have to take out of your bag when passing through airport security checkpoints. Well, that problem is solved thanks to the new ScanFast Element Briefcase designed for women by women.

The new Mobile Edge ScanFast Element Briefcase has been tested by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials and exceeds their guidelines to be considered Checkpoint Friendly.

Now when passing through airport security checkpoints you no longer need to remove your laptop from you bag. Simply unzip the laptop compartment and lay the case flat on the belt. There is no need to place it in the gray bin.

You still have to take off your shoes and belt, however this is one less step to worry about when traveling.

Plus, by leaving your laptop in your bag, it alleviates the threat of someone stealing your computer or forgetting it as more than 12,000 laptops are lost or stolen each week in airports across the country.

Did I mention how stylish this case is too? The ScanFast Element Briefcase comes in three color combinations, Pink Suede with Brown trim, Green Suede with Brown trim, and Brown suede with brown trim.

Travel Tip: When passing through airport security checkpoints, place your cell phone, wallet, purse etc. inside the Checkpoint Friendly Bag. This will help keep all of your personal belongings safe from potential thieves and will help you keep track of where everything is located.
