Mobile Edge matching high end clients to high end suppliers

Matthew Olivolo February 24th, 2012

Jim and Christine Harvey, promotional products professionals and owners of Out of the Box Marketing in Lakewood, Colorado have several very high end clients. Their clients are very specific on quality and brands they purchase. Specifically, Jim received a call from one of their larger clients ProLogis. They were looking for a high-end laptop sleeve that provided superior protection and looked right decorated with their logo.

Jim remembered Mobile Edge and their extensive line of laptop cases and called account manager, Todd Singelyn. Jim explained to Todd what his client needed and the type of quality they expected. Jim needed approximately 250 black laptop sleeves, and Todd had the perfect solution for him.

Todd introduced the Mobile Edge SlipSuit to Jim and gave him the color and size options, with each case mocked up virtually with their logo. Todd sent out a physical sample of the black 15” MacBook SlipSuit which was their first choice from the selection.

As expected, Jim’s client was very pleased with their choice after seeing the SlipSuit in person, and submitted a purchase order of 250 pieces. With ample lead time, the decorated SlipSuits were delivered on time and looked custom.

“My client was extremely excited about this bag, and very pleased with the finished product,” Tracy explained. “The tablet fits in the case perfectly and provides plenty of protection as well.”

Chris is now working with Tracy on future orders with Samsung and some of her other large clients.

The all new designed Limited Edition Alienware M17x Tactical Backpack is now in stock!

Gamer enthusiasts have been waiting for a new Alienware design, and the first of two new cases are here and ready for ordering. The all new M17x Tactical Briefcase is in production and ready to ship soon.

Not only is the new design extremely cool, you can also travel through airport security checkpoints and not have to remove your really expensive Alienware laptop from you bag. Simply unzip the backpack down on both sides and the case folds in half for easy TSA scanning.

This cool design helps keep your laptop safe from getting bumped, scratched, dropped or even stolen. While others have to take their laptop out of their backs and place it in the gray bin, you will be happy as you go through security quicker than everyone else.

The new Tactical camouflage pattern is symbolic to some of the military style video games like “Modern Warfare,” and “Call Of Duty.” The urban camo design is perfect for all gamers especially since this is a Limited Edition design.

How the TSA’s Newly-Expanded Expedited Travel Program Works

Matthew Olivolo February 21st, 2012

In a recent article published by Adam Dachis, Travel Editor from Lifehacker.com, explains how the new TSA Expedited Travel Program will work and if it is worth signing up for. Any way to help move you through the airport screening process quicker is worth signing up for in my opinion.

The Design Team at Mobile Edge understands this completely which is why we offer one of the largest collection of TSA compliant Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bags and Cases for both men and women.

The U.S. Transport Safety Administration (TSA) has been testing a program called TSA Pre?™ that allows you to supply the TSA with a handful of personal details in exchange for skipping the long lines at security checkpoints. Depending on how you feel about the TSA, this may sound really great or really terrible. Now that the program is expanding the many more airports, we’re taking a look at how the program works and whether or not it’s worth your time.

The PreCheck program works by embedding a code in your boarding pass. The TSA agent checking that pass scans it, finds out that you’re special, and may refer you to an expedited line. You also could by exempt from removing your shoes, items from your carry-on, your jacket, and your belt. The language on the TSA’s “How It Works” page (see the image on the right) doesn’t appear to guarantee any of these benefits. In fact, the page reminds you that “no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening” and that you’re still subject to the “random and unpredictable security measures throughout the airport.” The bottom line is that you might get these benefits, but they’re not making any promises.

Is it worth signing up for? Not sure yet, well click here to read the rest of the article.

Identity Theft Experts Warn Travelers of New Threat

Matthew Olivolo February 7th, 2012

News Report Shows Criminals Target Credit-worthy Travelers with Innovative Electronic Pick-pocketing Tools

Airports are an ideal hunting ground for a new breed of tech-savvy thieves who target travelers for electronic pick-pocketing, remotely skimming their credit card and passport information without physically touching them, according to recent media reports.

Because electronic pick-pocketing requires only that a thief with a commercially available wireless card reader casually come within 20 feet of the victim, the crime is largely invisible to security cameras and personnel.

“Given the nature of the crime, it is much easier for this new brand of thief to steal your credit card numbers than it is for you to know it’s happening, or for law enforcement to catch them,” said Walt Augustinowicz.

Once a traveler who becomes a victim of electronic pickpocketing discovers that they had sensitive information stolen, it is often too late to discover where the theft took place, especially amid multiple connecting flights. Thus, “the crime may continue unabated,” as Visa’s product development team wrote in the patent documents.

All U.S. Passports now use an RFID chip as well and are just as vulnerable to I.D. theft.
Mobile Edge offers one sure way to protect you from this threat by using their Leather I.D. Sentry Passport and Credit Card Wallets. The alloy shielding material blocks out
unwanted RFID access, keeping would be skimming thieves away. The patent pending design acts like a bunker securing your valuable information keeping it safe while inside the wallet.

When you want to use the card, simply take it out and swipe it. When done paying, place the card back in your Mobile Edge wallet and your identity will remain safe and secure.
