Since September 11, 2001, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented several security checkpoint procedures. One new procedure is allowing travelers to leave their laptop inside their Mobile Edge Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag when passing through airport security checkpoints. This new collection exceeds TSA guidelines to be 100 percent TSA compliant.

By using the approved Mobile Edge laptop cases you will save time going through security checkpoints, you will help the security lines moving quicker and will help protect your laptop from being forgotten or stolen. In fact, it has been reported that more than 12,000 laptops are lost or stolen at airport security checkpoints weekly nationwide. If more people used Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bags this would help everyone move through the line quicker and possibly alleviate extended delays.

Also new for checked luggage is a fully automated screening machine. In several major airports across the nation, there are new explosive screening machines that screen all bags that go through the system without a TSA agent having to touch the luggage. If there is a suspicious looking bag, the screeners will flag the specific piece of luggage and give it a further inspection by an actual agent. Click on the video to see exactly what I am describing. Stay tuned for more travel tips.

Inside the Mobile Edge Tote, Breast Cancer Survivors are given special pink themed products from sponsors exclusively for them celebrating their accomplishment of beating this disease.

“The Breast Cancer Survivors loved the design of this year’s and the fabric of the Mobile Edge totes,” said Stacy Davis, Komen Orange County, Development Associate for Corporate Giving. “Everyone looks forward to the Mobile Edge contribution every year.”

We are proud to sponsor the local Orange County Komen Affiliate every year. Additionally, we are a sponsor for Komen nationally as well. We donate 10 percent of the retail sales price of each Komen Laptop Case that we sell. We make a push all year long to help raise money for to help fight this terrible disease.
That’s right, our Mobile Edge Caring Case Collection of stylish laptop bags appeared on a 10 story electronic billboard in Times Square, the hub of New York City where 2.2 million people pass daily. In a Press Release, Mobile Edge announced their recent donation contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, which surpassed $250,000 since the program’s inception. Between the national program and all of the donations made to local Southern California Komen affiliates, we were able to contribute more than a quarter million dollars and counting.

As a proud corporate partner with the Komen Foundation, we are proud to help contribute money to such a worthy cause. This is a curable disease, and it is our goal to help raise enough money for research and awareness as needed. If everyone does their part in supporting this initiative, one day scientists may find a cure and eliminate this horrible disease once and for all.

The special Caring Case Collection is comprised of six pink themed laptop bags all toting the Komen pink ribbon medallion.

Mobile Edge donates 10 percent of the retail sales price of each Komen Laptop bag they sell back to the Foundation. This is our way of giving back to those in need. There is a lot of rhetoric out there of companies claiming to be socially responsible, and this is our way of actually doing just that.

Please help us raise money for such a worthy cause and get a designer laptop bag designed by women, for women, for the benefit of women. We stand behind every laptop case we make. All of our laptop bags come with a Lifetime Warranty, the strongest warranty in the industry!

The Holidays are thought of as a time for charitable giving. So wouldn’t it be great to get a gift for a loved one or friend and at the same time give to a worthy cause?
Well, buying a bag from Mobile Edge’s Caring Case Collection might be the answer. Every time you buy a case from this collection, Mobile Edge give 10 percent of the sale price to one of two charities. I decided to check out a backpack from the Komen Collection, the Komen Paris. Can this backpack actually work well and do good at the same time?

The Komen Paris Backpack Specifications:

Proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Exterior Dimensions: 12.5″ W x 16″ L x 6″ D

Compartment Dimensions: 11.2″ W x 13.2″ L x 1.9″ D

Weight: 3.5 lbs.

Ergonomic Cool-Mesh ventilated back panel

The SafetyCell computer protection compartment

Removable accessories/cosmetics pouch

Lifetime warranty

Design and Aesthetics
The Komen Paris is a part of the special edition Komen Collection which features Mobile Edge For Her Bags in the trademark breast cancer pink and include a metal breast cancer ribbon keychain. However, Mobile Edge does sell the regular Paris backpack in other colors and fabrics. The outside of the Komen Paris is stylish in a mix of black and pink with silver buckles and hardware. The bag is a made of a black microfiber except for the front faux leather flap that covers the compartment zippers. Not to worry, the faux leather is not made of that ugly fake leather, “pleather.” I even had people ask me if the faux leather was real. Running down the middle of the bag is a solid pink stripe with a silver buckle in the middle that secures the faux leather flap. There is also pink stitching around the outer edge and on all the zipper pulls.

Underneath the faux leather flap there are two large zippered compartments and a smaller, mesh zippered pocket. The mesh pocket is perfect for small items that you want to be able to reach easily. I kept my cell phone, iPod and a small billfold in this pocket.
The first zippered compartment has six pockets inside of it. Mobile Edge refers to this section on their website as a “workstation.” Two of the pockets are zippered mesh pockets similar to the previous mesh pocket only smaller. These pockets would be perfect for keys, pens/pencils, a flash drive, post-it notes, and other small office supplies.
The other three pockets in the workstation are closed with Velcro straps. The top two are smaller; perfect for a cell phone, PDA, video iPod, etc (I kept two wireless mice I reviewed in these pockets). The third Velcro pocket could be used for small accessories like a mouse, USB extension cords, a mini hub, or a cell phone charger. The last pocket is just a large open pocket. Slip a notepad in, or store a power cord in this pocket. The second zippered compartment is perfect for storing textbooks or spiral notebooks. I kept my purse, gloves and my organizer in this pocket. This pocket also has a key fob with the accessories/cosmetics pouch attached. The pouch isn’t huge and it’s made of cheap fabric but it would be perfect for makeup.

Here is a little of what he had to say about the Komen Milano:

Looking for that special gift for the lady in your life? Or maybe you’re ready to tell the lady in your life that you’ve been following (but doesn’t know you exist) how much she means to you. Or maybe you really like pink and you want to give a little to a worthy cause.
Whatever the case, consider the Komen Milano from Mobile Edge. It’s made of faux pink crocodile and 10% of the $129.99 purchase price will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer charity.

When it comes to a tote or handbag, Girlawhirl usually tries to balance form and function, but when it comes to protecting her computer, function always wins out. She’s more than happy to give up a little fashion for the peace of mind knowing that her laptop is well protected. But she just found a new carrying case she’s happy to be caught sporting around town…
When she’s on the go, Girlawhirl needs to know her computer will be safe and secure as she runs from meeting to meeting, cab to train and everywhere in between. And her new Paris Backpack is just what the laptop doctor ordered. Big enough to hold laptops with screens up to 15.4″ wide, the SafetyCellTMComputer Protection Compartment cushions her laptop while Girlawhirl’s busy running around.

But this bag isn’t just about computer safety; the Mobile Edge backpack also features separate compartments for files or magazines, and multiple interior pockets great for organizing all of her pens, USB drives, cables, discs and more. There’s even a removable cosmetics case for personal items and lipsticks. And the comfortable straps make lugging her laptop around easy on her shoulders.

(CBS) October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time for us to celebrate our friends and family who are breast cancer survivors and to remember and mourn those no longer with us. It’s a time to renew our energy to fight this cruel disease and to focus our efforts to support the researchers and physicians who are working for a cure.

There are people however, for whom awareness of breast cancer is a 12-month-long commitment. These are the men and women who help raise money for research, help patients who are fighting the disease and help educate women young and old about early detection and treatment.

For the past four years, The Early Show has done a special series, Pink for a Week, that puts the spotlight on the organizations and the individuals who wage this battle on a daily basis. We also use Pink for a Week as an opportunity to thank the many companies, large and small, that donate money and create pink-themed products that benefit the charities.

Every day for six days, we’re going to showcase a charity, as well as display some of the great pink products.

Tuesday: The mission of Susan G. Komen For The Cure is to “end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.” The group, which sponsors activities and sells “pink” products, makes more than $58 million a year, money that is used to fund research and outreach programs for patients.

This year, they’ve taken one of their lovely tote bags and filled it to the brim with “pink” gift items and have distributed them to our Early Show guests in the plaza.

Another great turn out at this year’s Orange County Komen Race for the Cure. The Mobile Edge Team was there in full force showing their support for the Komen Foundation and to help the cause in finding a cure for breast cancer!

More than 35,000 people attended this year’s race and it always is a wonderful event to be a part of. I had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of local people who share the same cause, and they really liked our Pink-themed laptop bags. I have to admit, seeing t-shirts that say I’m doing this for my mom always makes me well up. My step-mom too is a breast cancer survivor.

For Mobile Edge, this is our fourth year as a corporate partner with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation nationally. To date we have donated nearly $200,000.00 and counting. Locally in Orange County, this is our second year as a Bronze Sponsor where have made the 2,000 keep-sake bags for the cancer survivors.

We are already looking forward to next year making the event bigger and better. Don’t forget, we donate 10% of the sales price of each Komen Laptop bag we make back to the Foundation. From now through October 31, 2007 get free shipping on all Komen products in our Caring Case Collection and get a free Pink Caring Case Teddy Bear. Helping a great cause and getting a stylish laptop bag with a Lifetime Warranty how can you go wrong?
