If you want an eco-friendly bag that can protect your laptop as well as the environment, check out the Eco Casual Tote by Mobile Edge for Her. The tote, which can fit laptops up to 16 inches, has a natural cotton exterior and a color-accented satin interior lining. In addition to the tan color shown above, the tote comes in black, chocolate, and blue; also included is an optional extra-wide shoulder strap.

Mobile Edge Eco-Friendly Casual Tote with removable computer compartmentThe 17.5- by 14- by 7-inch tote has a detachable phone pocket made of the same satin interior fabric, and a removable computer compartment that converts to an all-purpose tote. Inside the bag, there’s plenty of room on both sides of the laptop compartment for personal items and accessories.

For more storage, the Casual Tote features two large, deep pockets on the outside and one has additional smaller pockets on the inside for all your personal items and accessories. On the side of the bag is a hidden mesh pocket for your water bottle.

I carried the tote around for a week. It kept my laptop secure, and I liked having the option of carrying the laptop tote by itself.

This bag is huge; it has more than enough room to carry all my items. I really like the smaller pockets inside the bigger pockets that I could use for my MetroCard and work ID. It made it easier to find them when I needed them.

The extra wide strap did make it more comfortable to carry, too; that was a definite plus.

Mobile Edge Handbags are Functional and Cool

Matthew Olivolo October 28th, 2009

By Susie Anderson, Fashion Editor Lime Life

Mobile Edge Pink Faux-Croc Komen Milano Handbag We’re thrilled that we found a solution to common problem. Since we carry our laptops absolutely everywhere, we’ve been looking for the ideal way to carry it. We want something that’s both functional (meaning our laptop fits and it’s comfortable) and fashionable (mean we don’t want to look super-techy; we want a bit of style). And we finally found that with Mobile Edge Handbags.

When you see someone walking down the street with a Mobile Edge handbag, you’re not going to think, “there she goes off to work with her computer!” Instead you’ll likely think, “Wow, where did that girl get her bag? It’s hot!”

We’re not kidding. These bags are seriously stylish, we can’t even believe they’re meant for carrying around laptops. But hey, we’ll take it because we do need a way to carry our computer around. The bags were designed for women and by women, so it makes sense that women everywhere love them!

The bags come in lots of different colors, but most of them are black or pink. And many of the pink ones were designed to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. So, really they’re a triple whammy. Functional, stylish, and full of support! We’ll take two!

Mobile Edge Caring Case Collection supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is among the leading Breast Cancer Research and Awareness Foundations in the world.

Here at Mobile Edge, we share the common goal of the Komen Foundation and stand side-by-side their commitment to helping fight Breast Cancer as a life threatening disease. We hope one day our efforts will contribute to eradicating this disease altogether.

As a company, we feel it is our Social Responsibility to give back to those in need. To do our part our designers created the Caring Case Collection, which is comprised of six pink themed Komen laptop bags all toting the symbolic pink ribbon breast cancer medallion. In 2004, Mobile Edge became a corporate partner with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

As a proud corporate partner with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, we donate 10 percent of the retail sales price of each Komen laptop bag we sell to the foundation. Since the inception of our “Caring Case Collection” Program, Mobile Edge has donated more than $250,000.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its local affiliates, and counting.

Locally, Mobile Edge donates 2,000 bags each year to the local Orange County Komen Affiliate for local cancer survivors. This year the Survivor Bags will be non-woven Pink re-usable grocery shopping totes made with recycled materials.

Mobile Edge just released two new Komen Totes rounding out the Collection. The redesigned Pink Faux-Suede Tote comes with several new additions including a new striped interior, protective material on the bottom of the case to help keep it clean just to name a few. The all new Komen Eco-Friendly Tote is made with all natural cotton canvas, helping reduce the carbon foot print as well as helping donate money to the Komen Foundation. New Mobile Edge Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag Reviewed

ScanFast Onyx Checkpoint Friendly Briefcase Review

By: Allison J, NotebookReview.com Editor

Lookout ladies, Mobile Edge introduced a line of stylish laptop bags for the fashion-conscious woman on the go. With a TSA approved design and a wireless security shield compartment, it’s a little black bag with a couple of tricks up its sleeves.

Mobile Edge for Her ScanFast Onyx Briefcase, Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Bag

So what makes the ScanFast Onyx Checkpoint Friendly Briefcase appealing to the feminine sensibility? The “Mobile Edge for Her” tag on the main compartment, for starters. It’s also accented with black faux-leather on the front compartment and shoulder straps and includes a removable accessories pouch. It’s a simple but polished look for a style-conscious woman.

Two large compartments make up the bulk of the bag. Because this is a TSA checkpoint friendly bag, one of these is designated as the laptop compartment, and the whole bag unzips in the butterfly style to provide security with an unobstructed view of the computer. Mobile Edge was even kind enough to print the words “Checkpoint Friendly” in large white letters inside the bag … just in case TSA agents aren’t sure whether the bag should be allowed to pass. A smaller compartment on the front has a couple of pockets for pens and other devices.

One of these pockets has what Mobile Edge calls a Wireless Security Shield. It’s designed to protect a cell phone or Bluetooth enabled wireless device from would-be hackers. The catch, however, is that the pocket lining will also block out any incoming calls or messages, creating a little Bermuda Triangle inside your bag. If you’d like to make sure your phone stays silent during a meeting or sporting event, placing it in this pocket will keep it quiet. Again, you won’t receive any calls or messages while it’s there. [Calls go straight to voice mail]

This is a well designed bag; from the solid hardware to the flattened straps that rest on the shoulder comfortably. It even has a trolley strap on the back. On three trips through three different airport security checkpoints, I’ve never been asked to take my laptop out of this bag. Has the day of the TSA friendly bag finally arrived? I hope so.

Caring Case Collection

That’s right, our Mobile Edge Caring Case Collection of stylish laptop bags appeared on a 10 story electronic billboard in Times Square, the hub of New York City where 2.2 million people pass daily. In a Press Release, Mobile Edge announced their recent donation contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, which surpassed $250,000 since the program’s inception. Between the national program and all of the donations made to local Southern California Komen affiliates, we were able to contribute more than a quarter million dollars and counting.

As a proud corporate partner with the Komen Foundation, we are proud to help contribute money to such a worthy cause. This is a curable disease, and it is our goal to help raise enough money for research and awareness as needed. If everyone does their part in supporting this initiative, one day scientists may find a cure and eliminate this horrible disease once and for all.

The special Caring Case Collection is comprised of six pink themed laptop bags all toting the Komen pink ribbon medallion.

Mobile Edge donates 10 percent of the retail sales price of each Komen Laptop bag they sell back to the Foundation. This is our way of giving back to those in need. The Mobile Edge Komen Paris Backpack Reviewed on NotebookReview.com

Jason Gerdon December 10th, 2007

By Sarah Meyer of NotebookReview.com

The Holidays are thought of as a time for charitable giving. So wouldn’t it be great to get a gift for a loved one or friend and at the same time give to a worthy cause?
Well, buying a bag from Mobile Edge’s Caring Case Collection might be the answer. Every time you buy a case from this collection, Mobile Edge give 10 percent of the sale price to one of two charities. I decided to check out a backpack from the Komen Collection, the Komen Paris. Can this backpack actually work well and do good at the same time?

The Komen Paris Backpack Specifications:

  • Proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure
  • Exterior Dimensions: 12.5″ W x 16″ L x 6″ D
  • Compartment Dimensions: 11.2″ W x 13.2″ L x 1.9″ D
  • Weight: 3.5 lbs.
  • Black Microfiber and Faux Leather
  • Ergonomic Cool-Mesh ventilated back panel
  • The SafetyCell computer protection compartment
  • Removable accessories/cosmetics pouch
  • Lifetime warranty

Design and Aesthetics
The Komen Paris is a part of the special edition Komen Collection which features Mobile Edge For Her Bags in the trademark breast cancer pink and include a metal breast cancer ribbon keychain. However, Mobile Edge does sell the regular Paris backpack in other colors and fabrics. The outside of the Komen Paris is stylish in a mix of black and pink with silver buckles and hardware. The bag is a made of a black microfiber except for the front faux leather flap that covers the compartment zippers. Not to worry, the faux leather is not made of that ugly fake leather, “pleather.” I even had people ask me if the faux leather was real. Running down the middle of the bag is a solid pink stripe with a silver buckle in the middle that secures the faux leather flap. There is also pink stitching around the outer edge and on all the zipper pulls.

Underneath the faux leather flap there are two large zippered compartments and a smaller, mesh zippered pocket. The mesh pocket is perfect for small items that you want to be able to reach easily. I kept my cell phone, iPod and a small billfold in this pocket.
The first zippered compartment has six pockets inside of it. Mobile Edge refers to this section on their website as a “workstation.” Two of the pockets are zippered mesh pockets similar to the previous mesh pocket only smaller. These pockets would be perfect for keys, pens/pencils, a flash drive, post-it notes, and other small office supplies.
The other three pockets in the workstation are closed with Velcro straps. The top two are smaller; perfect for a cell phone, PDA, video iPod, etc (I kept two wireless mice I reviewed in these pockets). The third Velcro pocket could be used for small accessories like a mouse, USB extension cords, a mini hub, or a cell phone charger. The last pocket is just a large open pocket. Slip a notepad in, or store a power cord in this pocket. The second zippered compartment is perfect for storing textbooks or spiral notebooks. I kept my purse, gloves and my organizer in this pocket. This pocket also has a key fob with the accessories/cosmetics pouch attached. The pouch isn’t huge and it’s made of cheap fabric but it would be perfect for makeup.

The Mobile Edge Komen Milano Featured on CrunchGear

Jason Gerdon December 10th, 2007

Doug Aamoth over at CrunchGear just wrapped up a review of the Mobile Edge Komen Milano as part of the CG Holiday 2007 Recommendations. Here is a little of what he had to say about the Komen Milano:

Looking for that special gift for the lady in your life? Or maybe you’re ready to tell the lady in your life that you’ve been following (but doesn’t know you exist) how much she means to you. Or maybe you really like pink and you want to give a little to a worthy cause.
Whatever the case, consider the Komen Milano from Mobile Edge. It’s made of faux pink crocodile and 10% of the $129.99 purchase price will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer charity.
