The Komen Paris Backpack Featured on GirlaWhirl

Jason Gerdon November 9th, 2007

When it comes to a tote or handbag, Girlawhirl usually tries to balance form and function, but when it comes to protecting her computer, function always wins out. She’s more than happy to give up a little fashion for the peace of mind knowing that her laptop is well protected. But she just found a new carrying case she’s happy to be caught sporting around town…
When she’s on the go, Girlawhirl needs to know her computer will be safe and secure as she runs from meeting to meeting, cab to train and everywhere in between. And her new Paris Backpack is just what the laptop doctor ordered. Big enough to hold laptops with screens up to 15.4″ wide, the SafetyCellTMComputer Protection Compartment cushions her laptop while Girlawhirl’s busy running around.

But this bag isn’t just about computer safety; the Mobile Edge backpack also features separate compartments for files or magazines, and multiple interior pockets great for organizing all of her pens, USB drives, cables, discs and more. There’s even a removable cosmetics case for personal items and lipsticks. And the comfortable straps make lugging her laptop around easy on her shoulders.

Boomer Esiason interviewed on ESPN

Matthew Olivolo November 7th, 2007

Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback and President of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, was recently interviewed on ESPN.com. He spoke about how he has vowed to make a difference for those affected with cystic fibrosis. His son Gunnar has cystic fibrosis and the video shows early childhood video of how Boomer and his family have helped Gunnar battle this terrible disease.

Mobile Edge is a proud sponsor of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, and donates 10 percent of the sales price of each BEF laptop case we sell back to the Foundation.

This is a very inspirational video. Click here to see how Gunnar is doing today with this illness.

Mobile Edge & BEF: Together Fighting Cystic Fibrosis

Jason Gerdon November 2nd, 2007

I’m sure most of you out there have heard of Boomer Esiason before. He was an NFL quarterback from 1984-1997 and was the 1988 NFL MVP. More importantly, he started the Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF) to fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Boomer and his wife Cheryl founded BEF after their son Gunnar was diagnosed with the disease in 1993.

Mobile Edge partnered with Boomer and BEF to raise money to help find a cure. We have since launched the Mobile Edge BEF Collection. This Collection for men and women helps to raise awareness and money, so that one day there will be a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. For every bag sold from the BEF Collection, Mobile Edge will donate 10 percent of the sales price to BEF.

Mobile Edge on CBS Early Show – Pink for a Week

Matthew Olivolo October 9th, 2007

(CBS) October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time for us to celebrate our friends and family who are breast cancer survivors and to remember and mourn those no longer with us. It’s a time to renew our energy to fight this cruel disease and to focus our efforts to support the researchers and physicians who are working for a cure.

There are people however, for whom awareness of breast cancer is a 12-month-long commitment. These are the men and women who help raise money for research, help patients who are fighting the disease and help educate women young and old about early detection and treatment.

Mobile Edge Komen laptop bags on CBS Early Show For the past four years, The Early Show has done a special series, Pink for a Week, that puts the spotlight on the organizations and the individuals who wage this battle on a daily basis. We also use Pink for a Week as an opportunity to thank the many companies, large and small, that donate money and create pink-themed products that benefit the charities.

Every day for six days, we’re going to showcase a charity, as well as display some of the great pink products.

Tuesday: The mission of Susan G. Komen For The Cure is to “end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.” The group, which sponsors activities and sells “pink” products, makes more than $58 million a year, money that is used to fund research and outreach programs for patients.

This year, they’ve taken one of their lovely tote bags and filled it to the brim with “pink” gift items and have distributed them to our Early Show guests in the plaza.

Team Mobile Edge at Komen Race for the Cure

Caring Globally, Acting Locally

Another great turn out at this year’s Orange County Komen Race for the Cure. The Mobile Edge Team was there in full force showing their support for the Komen Foundation and to help the cause in finding a cure for breast cancer!

Mobile Edge Team PhotoMore than 35,000 people attended this year’s race and it always is a wonderful event to be a part of. I had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of local people who share the same cause, and they really liked our Pink-themed laptop bags. I have to admit, seeing t-shirts that say I’m doing this for my mom always makes me well up. My step-mom too is a breast cancer survivor.

For Mobile Edge, this is our fourth year as a corporate partner with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation nationally. To date we have donated nearly $200,000.00 and counting. Locally in Orange County, this is our second year as a Bronze Sponsor where have made the 2,000 keep-sake bags for the cancer survivors.

We are already looking forward to next year making the event bigger and better. Don’t forget, we donate 10% of the sales price of each Komen Laptop bag we make back to the Foundation. From now through October 31, 2007 get free shipping on all Komen products in our Caring Case Collection and get a free Pink Caring Case Teddy Bear. Helping a great cause and getting a stylish laptop bag with a Lifetime Warranty how can you go wrong? Click here to visit the Caring Case Collection Page.

Mobile Edge Boomer Esiason Laptop Bags on Gadgetell

Matthew Olivolo September 18th, 2007

By Chris Marshall

Mobile Edge G-Pak laptop bag10% of the $70 that you pay for this Mobile Edge backpack will go towards finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, thanks to the cooperation between Mobile Edge and the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

That is the good news. The even better news is that the bag appears to be quality bag at a more than reasonable price. Made from ballistic nylon it is tough and strong. The buckles, seams, stitching and zippers are robust. The design means that it is “easy on the back as well as on the eyes”, and it has more than enough storage space for your laptop, accessories , and MP3 player, especially as it has a specific pouch and space for your headphones built in.

A Laptop Case For The Girls

By Alyse Wax

Yes, I am obsessed with laptop cases. Probably because I am just obsessed with my laptop. My MacBook Pro is a good-looking machine; I want its case to be just as good looking.

Enter Mobile Edge. They offer an entire line of totes, briefcases, backpacks and portfolios specifically designed for women. Not little girls, but businesswomen. This particular tote is part of the BEF Line. The Boomer Esiason Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, and Mobile Edge donates 10% of BEF Tote sales to the foundation. The bag goes a step further: it is 100% vegan-friendly. The leather trim is faux; the suede lining is faux; the body of the bag is nylon.

Mobile Edge Premium Camo Backpack close-up

By Doug Aamoth

Just got done playing with a couple of new backpacks from Mobile Edge. They’re beingMobile Edge G-Pak sold in cooperation with the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which “is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.” A generous 10% of each one sold goes to the charity itself, so let’s see what these souped-up tote bags are made of.

Boomer Esiason Foundation G-Pak
The smaller of the two bags (although by no means tiny) is called the G-Pak, named after Boomer’s son Gunnar. It’ll hold up to a 15.4? laptop and has pockets for just about everything including a digital audio player pouch with a little rubber pass-through opening for a headphone cord. Mobile Edge pitches it as “the ideal backpack for students and others requiring a sturdy notebook carrying case that’s easy on the back and easy on the eyes.”

Mobile Edge Premium Backpack in Urban Camouflage
The Premium Backpack is a bit larger than the G-Pak, holding up to a 17? laptop and featuring two main compartments, front-side buckles, detachable cell phone holder, and a bunch of other cool enhancements with names like “SafetyCell”, “Cool-Mesh”, “Duraflex”, and “1680 Denier Ballistic Nylon”.

Mobile Edge Premium Backpack CamoYou could pack for an entire weekend in this bag. It strikes a nice balance between being big yet not unwieldy. You’d be able to stow it on an airplane, as Mobile Edge says that it “fits in any overhead or under any seat” and I’d feel perfectly comfortable that my laptop was safely sandwiched in between the little bumpy-soft nubbins that line part of the bag’s interior.
