October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Mobile Edge is proud to support the global movement to help find a cure for Breast Cancer once and for all.
This year at the Orange County Affiliate Komen Race for the Cure, on September 25, Mobile Edge supported the Race by donating 2,000 drawstring backpacks to local Breast Cancer Survivors.
Additionally, at the Race Mobile Edge raffled off three different laptop cases to race participants that signed up.
Vanessa Ryan from Mission Viejo was one of the three lucky winners. She was awarded the Komen Full-Grain Leather Tote with a retail value of $279.99.
She was completely surprised that she won and said she may go out and purchase a Lotto Ticket given her recent good luck.
“I LOVE the laptop tote!! It is absolutely fabulous and just adorable, I love the pink,” Vanessa proudly stated.
The Komen Leather Tote is part of the Mobile Edge Caring Case Collection and is a limited edition. Mobile Edge donates 10 percent of the retail sales price of all Komen cases sold. To date, Mobile Edge has donated more than $300,000 and counting.

The United States Military Academy at West Point is known as one of the world’s preeminent leader development institutions. The Academy Stores Director of Cadet Activities, Lenora Grable-Grant, met Noni Darakhshan, Director of Education Sales for Mobile Edge at a Trade Show and mentioned the incoming 2015 West Point Cadets were in need of new backpacks. Grable-Grant asked Darakhshan to submit a few laptop backpack suggestions to bid against other selections.
Darakhshan submitted a few ideas and had an idea for a custom backpack with an exterior ID badge holder to identify the individual Cadet.
“The customized Mobile Edge Backpack was a big hit with the Corp Of Cadets, the overall design, durability and features (i.e. pockets, storage units) were a big plus, explained Lenora Grable-Grant. “During the contract selection/testing phase, the Academy Stores conducted a survey amongst the Corp of Cadets and of the selection pool (5 different/varied backpacks) the Mobile Edge Backpack was chosen 7 out of 10 times amongst the 30 Cadets.”
Since the original design of this backpack bears a resemblance to a rugged military look and feel, it was not a surprise that the Mobile Edge Backpack was hands down the most popular amongst the Cadets.
“During the West Point Class of 2015 issue process, the upper classmen whom escorted the Class of 2015 Cadets were extremely complimentary of the design and durability of the backpack,” said Grable-Grant. “Several upper class Cadets (Class of 2012-2014) requested to purchase the backpack on the spot. The Cadets overwhelming noted that they were extremely satisfied with the overall makeup of the backpack and would highly recommend it to all.”
“Due to the overwhelming positive response from the Corps of Cadets, the West Point Academy Stores will definitely move forward with procuring Mobile Edge Backpacks in the future,” exclaimed Grable-Grant.

Tracy Penton, a promotional products veteran working for Inner Workings, a leading global provider of managed print and promotional solutions, received a call from one of her larger clients Samsung. They were looking for a high-end bag that had a distinct look and stylish shape to it that would fit their new Galaxy Tablet. Her initial thought was a Mobile Edge case.
Tracy then called Mobile Edge account manager, Chris Busse, and explained to him what her client needed. Tracy needed approximately 225 tablet cases, so Chris went to work for her.
Chris offered four different laptop bags giving Tracy and her client a few choices to choose from, with each case mocked up virtually with their logo. Chris sent out a physical sample of the Mini Messenger which was their first choice from the selection.
As expected, Tracy’s client was very pleased with their choice after seeing the messenger in person, and ordered 250 of the Mobile Edge Mini Messengers. With plenty of lead time, the decorated Mini Messengers were delivered on time and looked fantastic.
“My client was extremely excited about this bag, and very pleased with the finished product,” Tracy explained. “The tablet fits in the case perfectly and provides plenty of protection as well.”
Chris is now working with Tracy on future orders with Samsung and some of her other large clients.
Promotional Marketing professional Michelle Perkol, of Star Gift Alliance, received a call from one of her top clients, Nocturne Productions for a special backstage giveaway. Nocturne is the leading supplier of video production services for live stage shows. They were looking for a backpack specifically for the Blue Man Group Tour that had a sleek look and feel to it, yet was well padded and comfortable to carry. The bag also had to have ample room for storage and be color coordinated. After sending her client five different bags from other vendors, she remembered Mobile Edge. She contacted account manager Summer Valdez, and explained what her client was looking for.
Summer had a good idea of what case would be most suitable and recommended the new EVO Backpack. At first, Michelle’s client was torn between a competing bag and the EVO Backpack. Summer shipped a sample of the EVO Backpack for Michelle’s client to evaluate in person. After seeing the quality of the backpack firsthand and the Free virtual mock-up, Michelle’s client realized the EVO Backpack was the ideal choice.
“It was a challenge for me to find the right bag that had everything I was looking for, and the EVO Backpack had everything I needed and more,” explained Michelle Perkol. “The coloring was ideal and logo placement worked out great.”
The logo placement was a fun project and tied in perfectly with the Blue trim of the EVO Backpack. Using two separate logos and imprint methods, the ‘Blue Man Group’ logo was imprinted onto a rubberized patch which was then sewn on the top part of the Backpack. Then the ‘Nocturne’ logo was embroidered on the lower portion of the bag making a nice contrast and really tying in both logos nicely. As expected, both the distributor and client were extremely pleased with the finished product and will be re-ordering this product as a result.
On the last episode of Glee titled Rumors, Heather Morris known as Brittany wears her favorite Mobile Edgelaptop backpack during a scene where co-star Kevin McHale known as Artie Abrams breaks up with her.
Brittany wears her Komen Paris Backpack in several different scenes throughout this episode, as it has become part of her character’s identity on the show.

On April 1st, the new movie titled “Source Code,” with Jake Gyllenhaal and Vera Farmiga comes out in Theaters nationwide.
